Welcome to Wilde Orchard. A website dedicated to fast, fresh, everyday recipes that are mostly healthy with a sprinkle of indulgence… ‘cause brownies are life!
We’re Debs & Jonathan and we created Wilde Orchard in 2014 as a baking blog because I wanted to use my culinary degree to bring food to more than just one person at a time like a restaurant does.
But, the world didn’t need another baking blog…
We realised that what people want is to feel in control of meal times and to feel confident in the kitchen, cooking nutritious, flavourful meals for themselves and their families. Food should be a fun adventure you get to go on 3 (or more) times a day. Not a thrice daily battle to try and nourish your body and hopefully eat food that feeds your soul too.
The Journey Here
While Wilde Orchard started out as a baking blog, we realised that we weren’t really fulfilled doing that. We wanted to create something we felt we could really provide value in. We all have the same meal time struggles…

I’m the recipe developer, content creator, and sometimes photographer behind Wilde Orchard. I’ve been food obsessed my whole life and cooking for most of it. My desire to always learn more led us from Vancouver to England where I gained my Cordon Bleu diploma in cookery. In the six years since, I have been working in all kinds of kitchens, from Michelin starred restaurants to award winning gastro-pubs. In that time I’ve learned a thing or two about flavour, creativity and kitchen organisation! I’ll share with you everything I know.
3 random things:
- I’m so left hand dominant I probably wouldn’t miss my right hand. (But I don’t wanna find out!)
- I have a new found obsession with soy lattes – Starbucks preferably, please and thank you.
- People are always shocked by this, but… I love hip-hop and gangster rap. The words would make you blush, but the beats be crazy!
Jonathan, known as JT or Mr. T. is the photography guy, usually. Having been a photographer at heart all his life, he turned his hand to it more seriously when he moved back to England. In the time since, he’s fallen in love with the food industry and loves to capture food stories from farm to table, wether it be sheep farmers in the field, potters at the wheel, or the chefs at the stoves. - At 8 he was caught, by security, out of bounds in the White House taking photos. <- Journalism!
- Jonathan loves Frazzles, a bacon flavoured snack, but doesn’t like bacon.
- Watches the movie “Chef” once a week.
There’s not really a lot to say about perfection. It speaks for itself. She was adopted out to 2 different families before she picked us. Third time lucky… for us. She is our biggest source of entertainment and amusement and comfort and love. She gets us up and out on the cold mornings for lungs full of fresh air and takes out on beach walks when she knows we need a break to re-focus.
3 random things
- Tundra loves horses.
- she politely corrects people when they call her a golden retriever… she’s a Pyrenees Mountain dog.
- Has an unhealthy obsession with duck jerky.
